Description
Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Capcoms swordplay action game. It marks the first new mainline Onimusha title in over twenty years. The game takes place in a version of early Edo-period Kyoto. In this version the city has been twisted by Malice. Filled with Genma demons.
The main character Onimusha: Way of the Sword is Miyamoto Musashi, the Japanese swordsman. Capcom chose to model the game’s Musashi after Toshiro Mifune, the actor known for his powerful roles, in samurai films. The likeness of Toshiro Mifune brings a sense of history.
Story and Setting
His journey takes a turn when he becomes tied to the Oni Gauntlet. Of just proving himself with swordsmanship like everyone else Musashi finds himself pulled into a supernatural war. The Genma are everywhere. The corruption in Kyoto grows worse each day.
The story Onimusha: Way of the Sword also dives into how Musashi’s view of power shifts over time. At first he turns away, from the Oni Gauntlet refusing to accept what it offers.. As the battles go on and more people suffer he starts to see things differently. He slowly begins to embrace the path that was forced upon him.
