Description

TENGAI is a horizontal-scrolling shoot ’em up that came out from Psikyo in 1996. In Japan the same game is called Sengoku Blade: Sengoku Ace Episode II. TENGAI mixes arcade shooting with a quirky and fun fantasy take on Japan’s Sengoku period. TENGAI shows magic, demons, ninjas, monks, samurai and mechanical warriors.

Game is not like a historical samurai game. TENGAI deliberately uses an over-the-top fantasy setting. The result is a bright arcade shooter where shrine maidens, ninjas, monks, samurai and a mechanical warrior battle, through armies of enemies.

Story and Premise

TENGAI starts with a general who suddenly changes and creates a scary army. His soldiers start taking women as part of a plan that involves human souls.

Princess Futsuhime from the Western Lands is. Learns about the generals plan. He wants to use her as the container, for a monster made from the souls of young women. One day is left before the ceremony and the princess throws a special item called the Flying Azure Stone out of her prison.
