Description

Arcade Archives: Donkey Kong this version is a modern version of Nintendos original arcade classic. It keeps the arcade game play the same while adding the ease of modern settings and online high-score rankings. The Nintendo Switch version is a game published by HAMSTER.

The goal seems easy. The difficulty comes from timing jumps, understanding enemy movement avoiding barrels and fire and figuring out when it is safe to move forward.

Story and Premise

Donkey Kong has kidnapped Lady. The player must guide the protagonist through a construction site to rescue Lady. The player faces swinging chains, falling debris and moving platforms. The player must use timing and careful planning to reach Lady.

The level design tells a story on its own. There are no cutscenes or dialogue. The game shows an obstacle-filled building site. The player climbs upward while Donkey Kong throws hazards from above. The level feels alive and tense as if the construction site itself is part of the challenge.
