Description
Arcade Archives: Omega Fighter is a scrolling shooter made for arcades and very famous. While most shooters are similar Omega Fighter is special in its game design, level structure and enemy focus. Of moving through many different levels the player must fight a huge space battle cruiser that holds all the levels inside.
The biggest difference is how risk and score are linked. If the player gets closer to enemies before destroying them the score can go higher. This means that staying away, from enemies is not always the best way to get a high score.
Story and Premise
Arcade Archives: Omega Fighter does not present its story like a cinematic game.
The basic premise is clear. A huge battle cruiser or mothership attacks Earth and the player must battle through its defenses and destroy it.The narrative mainly gives context for the arcade action. The real focus is, on shooting, survival, weapon management and chasing scores.
